Tour di Alberobello e Matera in bus privato da Bari

Tour di Alberobello e Matera in bus privato da Bari

Explore Alberobello on a self-guided tour from Bari that includes transportation. Discover this town that was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996 because it is an exceptional example of building construction using prehistoric techniques that have survived intact and still function in the modern world. A "trullo" is a small limestone house, made of dry stone walls, roughly worked limestone boulders collected from nearby fields and topped with a conical roof. Souvenir shops, B&Bs, bars and restaurants will cheer up your stay in Alberobello. The blinding light that emanates from the walls of the trulli, the streets that intersect with each other, create a unique and fairy-tale atmosphere that makes it a unique location in the world. You will continue your journey to discover Matera, one of the most spectacular places in Italy. It's hard to believe that less than 70 years ago, around 15,000 people, mostly farmers, still lived in caves without natural light, ventilation, running water or electricity. Today Matera is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been designated the European Capital of Culture for 2019. The ancient quarters, known as sassi, are a series of caves carved into the limestone, teetering on the edge of a ravine. You will admire a complex labyrinth of stone walkways and staircases full of local craft shops, cafes, and ice cream parlors.

**Title: A Delightful Culinary Experience in Alberobello** I had the pleasure of attending a pasta and tiramisu-making class hosted by Maria and Giovannella in their charming home in Alberobello. From the warm welcome to their knowledgeable guidance, they made us feel right at home. We learned to make fresh pasta from scratch, with Maria sharing tips on the best ingredients and techniques. The experience was fun and engaging, enhanced by a few local wines and friendly competition among participants. Next, we dove into creating the iconic tiramisu with Giovannella, who shared fascinating insights about its origins and the secrets to achieving its perfect creamy texture. The intimate setting fostered great conversation, and we all savored our delicious creations together. This cooking class is a fantastic way to experience local culture and culinary traditions. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Alberobello—it's a truly memorable experience!

Our tour guide Ilaria was very fun and knowledgeable, and directed us to really good local eateries. We sampled many local street food delicacies and tried 2 glasses of Primitivo. She is an experienced tour leader, and has lots of useful recommendations about the Puglia region. Ilaria was also lovely to chat to and very welcoming throughout the tour. We enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone wanting to sample some good local food!

Absolutely stunning and beautiful. Bad signage for the path to the upper plaza. Careful coming back. Pay attention to the path turnoff or you will end up on the road with no shoulders until you get to a path back down where it is safer.

Lots of information about life in the caves and the architecture. The tour was 2 hours, not 2.5 hours, which might have allowed us to see a bit of Matera Barioso.
