Inside, admire the Original Michelangelo's David and see how his expression changes as you walk across the room.
Marvel at the detail and poise chiseled into a single piece of marble, and find out for yourself why David has captivated generations the world over.
David represents a biblical hero winning against Goliath, symbolizing the defense of civil liberties embodied in the Republic of Florence, an independent city in the Medieval and Renaissance Periods.

In addition, experience other sculptures carved by Michelangelo such as Prigioni (Prisoners). These contorted bodies were meant for the tomb of Pope Julius II, but the tomb was never completed.
