The day started by being picked up from our hotel at approx 3am as described (I think some guests agreed to meet in town but we explained that we were already on the road out of town so made no sense for us to meet at this pickup point). The taxi was efficient and had AC as described. We arrived at a spot in a nearby town to Yala where safari jeeps were waiting, plus a few other taxis. We arrived in our jeeps at the Yala gate before it opened and then had the most fantastic experience exploring the park with our super helpful guide. We had a 20 min break at the end of the safari at a park cafe next to the beach and then returned to our taxis. We were dropped to the door of our Tangalle hotel and I believe some other guests in our taxi were heading to Hiri. This tour was exactly as advertised and couldn’t recommend it enough :) my only advice would be to take some breakfast with you to eat on the go as there’s no time to stop really, except for the break at the end of the safari tour

Combine a transfer from Ella to Tangalle/Hiriketiya with a day trip to Yala National Park. Experience the immense biodiversity on this Sri Lankan animal safari. After being picked up at your accommodation in Ella, you will arrive at Yala National Park, meet your local guide and board an an open-topped jeep to get the best views and photo angles. See the animals during the day when they are the most active. Watch for leopards, sloth bears, elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, water buffalos, and a large variety of bird species. Heading back to your air-conditioned car for the ride to your accommodation in Tangalle or Hiriketiya.
