Had a small hiccup where the activity provider’s initial message said pickup was between 6:45-7:00 am and couldn’t get ahold of them when the driver didn’t show, however after reaching out to GYG’s support team it turned out they meant to pick us up at 8:30-8:45 am. After looking up the sanctuary it appeared they open only after 9:00 at anyhow, and thus the initial message must have just been incorrect. After resolving that small issue and getting to the sanctuary, my partner and I had an amazing time getting to experience how these beautiful creatures live and seeing them up close. Pictures/videos were also very easy to take (we even got some of the elephants “hugging” us with their trunks!). They will take photos and send them to your email for free, but you are also welcome to bring a camera/phone/etc and take your own photos. We prep’d food, fed the elephants, prep’d mud and covered them with it, played in the water and bathed with them, and more. Amazing experience.

Great place with friendly staff who really take care of their elephants. The older elephants are rescued from logwork in Myanmar and the younger are rescued from showbusiness in Thailand. They have about 8 elephants and the youngest is 11 months old. (The baby elephant has his mom at the place too.) Program: •taxi pick up from the hotel •cutting sugarcanes in pieces •feeding the elephants with sugarcanes •change to bathsuit •photo session (no need to buy photo) •mudmask for the elephants (you get dirty) •cleaning and scrubbing elephants in water •shower for the elephants •shower for people •lunch with chicken, fried rice, noodles and fruit. Water and te/coffe is for free. (You can buy soft drinks, beer and snacks at the place.) •return to hotel with taxi They have large lockers for your belongings and you can borrow a padlock for free. Everything was very well organised and worth every penny. Good to know is that they need the money to be able to keep the elephants.

Excellent trip, the animals were clearly well cared for (no chains or harsh treatment at all). We got to learn about them, prepare and feed them, give them a mud scrub and then bath them. We then had a delicious lunch. Afterwards they send you all the photos as long as you provide your email address. Really good value for money and I would highly recommend. (One tip - if you get car sick take a travel sickness tablet because the road there has lots of hill and turns.)

Amazing elephants they are so lovely and what makes it better they are so happy to be there because they are treated so well and the guides are amazing with them and also with the customers best experience of my life me and the wife can’t wait to go back .

Best day ever!! So glad we did this tour! Amazing place with wonderful people working there!
