What people are saying about El Escorial

Overall rating

4.3
(823 reviews)

The Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen are absolutely amazing places. I compare it to visiting the Vatican, in terms of overall magnificent things to see. The sheer size of these places is impossible to comprehend or appreciate unless you see it firsthand. Christina was our tour guide and she was fantastic. She spoke English and Spanish flawlessly, and she said every single thing in both languages. I can attest to this since I’m bilingual. She filled the time with interesting information about what we were seeing, while also being available for questions constantly. Javier was our driver. The bus was large and comfortable, and Javier drove safely. I highly recommend this tour.

The activity with the guide today was great. However, I had problems with another activity with GYG and the support was zero! I lost the activity and the company didn't do a thing to help me. The information at the time of purchase is not clear and the customer ends up losing. I do not recommend the company.

We would have liked to have seen the buildings and their surroundings in more detail, there was a lot to see and the guide must walk quickly to be able to cover everything. Perhaps adding 30 minutes would have helped to enjoy it more.

Moi was a great local guide, who provided a ton of context and history of the museum. Wonderful visit. Highly recommend

Great trip and information about the history of Spain.
