  • From El Calafate: Torres del Paine Full Day Tour

    7. From El Calafate: Torres del Paine Full Day Tour

The day begins with pickup from your hotel in El Calafate, then travels to the border crossing at Cancha Carrera to enter Chile. After you’ve passed through customs, travel the last 80 km towards the breathtaking Torres del Paine National Park. Once inside the park, set out exploring a selection of different trekking trails, accompanied by your local expert guides. Throughout the day, learn about the park’s diverse flora and fauna as you wander through this unique landscape. Some of the highlights on this tour through the Chilean lands, include Lago Sarmiento de Gamboa, Rio Paine Falls, Almirante Nieto Mountains, and Amarga Lagoon. Midway through the day there’s also time to enjoy a picnic lunch to recharge for the rest of the adventure.

We had a clear day so we saw a lot of beautiful views. Just be prepared to spend the entire day on a bus. The road is VERY bumpy at times and we were very happy to get off when the trip was over. Also, the lunch provided is a meat sandwich and meat empanada with some sweets and a water. There were multiple vegetarians pretty disappointed so make sure you reach out and contact the company directly, not your booking agency, about any food requirements before the trip. The guides on the bus spoke very little English, but once we passed the border into Chile our park guide was very fluent in both English and Spanish. Also make sure to bring enough local currency to pay the park entrance fee. It is about 5,000 Argentinian pasos for two people or 25,000 Chilean pasos per person. In the end we are happy we went.

Really cool way to get to see the glacier. There was a limit where we couldn't get as close to the glacier in our kayaks as it looks like you can in some of the photos (but this may have just been the time of year we were there) but it was a nice and serene experience since there aren't a lot of other people on the water and you get to see the glacier from new angles. I would definitely recommend this!

A great package tour with something for everyone in the group. An experienced well informed guide who within the first 15 min of the bus ride was able to present a detailed itinerary for the day with all options! Info which I was unable to obtain from Viator or the local operator directly by email prior to the actual trip (which I requested). Together with the drive very helpful. Give em a 5 plus!

The pick up was on time. The staff were professional and very friendly, and gave great commentary and explanations of glaciers. A fantastic day and a wonderful experience seeing Perito Moreno Glazier! Well organised and an excellent tour guide - Leonal. I wish I could have stayed longer in El Calafate to see more of the National Park and the glaciers.

Very well organized trip. The guide was very knowledgeable and attentive. The views of the glacier were spectacular both from the boat and the balconies. Absolutely worth the flight from Buenos Aires!

An option to get off at Perito Moreno glacier to explore the walks and offer a convenient way to return to the hotel by road instead of the boat.
