Full description
Get to know the Perito Moreno glacier, a staggeringly beautiful ice field and glacier that is the crown jewel of Patagonia. Spend a full day exploring with your own private group and guide. Start your trip with pickup from your hotel in El Calafate between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM, depending on your preference. Once on the road, travel the 80 kilometers that separate the town from the glacier. Upon arrival at the parking lot, if you select the add-on for this tour, your group will have a 1-hour boat ride in front of the northern wall of the glacier, the best way to see, hear, and photograph the glacier.  Then, spend up to five hours walking around and exploring the glacier and the trails around it with your guide. Among the earth’s most dynamic and accessible ice fields, this glacier is the stunning centerpiece of the southern sector of Los Glaciares National Park. Constantly advancing, the glacier is considered one of the most impressive natural spectacles in the world.

This outdoor trek is good for all folks - they completely take care of you every step of the way (including crampons (spikes) so you do not slip on the glacier). It will also satisfy the the more adventurous since it is a way to get out on the glacier. Our guide Marcos was careful and informative.

The three of us booked a private tour. Very punctual pickup by driver and guide. Competent support throughout the day. The only drawback: the provided car was just too small for 3 adults. For the three of us, only the back seat was available, which was a big challenge. Transport as part of a regular bus tour would have been more comfortable.

Amazing experience! Anna was so knowledgeable and kind. It felt like hanging out with a friend. David our driver was also very nice. Our tour ended a little early and our flight went out late so David dropped us off in Calafate so we could explore and then took us to the airport later (this did cost us extra which we arranged ahead of our tour). I cannot say enough great things about this tour. Anna knee when the best times for us to visit certain view points so there wouldn’t be as many people. Anna and David, you were wonderful!
