Depart from your hotel in El Calafate at around 10:30 AM and set off for the Perito Moreno Glacier located inside the Los Glaciares National Park. Travel to the west end of the Magallanes Peninsula and enjoy plenty of time to explore this natural ice formation.

Begin your tour of the national park by strolling along a 4-kilometer (2.5-mile) network of boardwalks. Admire the glacier from multiple perspectives as you climb up to different levels and balconies.

Spend 2 hours exploring the runways and use this time to eat a packed lunch or make a stop in at one of the restaurants. Go on an optional 1-hour boat ride in front of the northern wall of the glacier. After the tour, return to El Calafate via the same route and arrive in the evening.

This was an amazing day, we really enjoyed it. Our guide Julia was very friendly and knowledgable and told us lots of interesting facts about the glacier and the National Park. The boat ride up to the glacier was very interesting and gave an excellent opportunity to see it more closely. We were given plenty of time afterwards to explore the trails and the viewing balconies that offered different perspectives of the glacier and allowed for lots of great photo opportunities. The trip ran perfectly to time and didn’t feel rushed at all. They offered a great service and it was a really memorable day. Thanks to the Patagonia Dreams team!

My guide was Sebastian. The trip was definitely value for money. Everything was well-organised. He explained the sights very well. The day went like this: pick up around 10.30AM > onboard a bus of people > boat trip (1 hr) > alight @ tourist pit stop > glacier board walk (pretty sufficient time) > pick up around 4.45PM > hotel. Tip: if you are going to El Chalten, you might want to consider buying souvenirs there instead as it's much cheaper. Also, there are two paid photo taking stops at the glacier attraction: the one at the top is 2000 pesos/ photo, while the one below is half the price - perhaps different prices as the views are different. Totally recommend it!

a most memorable day: to see the glacier up close was incredible. The coach was comfortable and our guide explained everything in advance of arriving at the glacier. The views of the changing countryside were interesting too. Definitely take the boat trip as it’s worth getting a view from the glacier that side too. The walking trails are at different levels but some are without steps so accessible for all. it’s amazing to hear the glacier cracking and see parts fall off. it’s mesmerising!! we didn’t feel rushed or have too much extra time hanging around, everything was perfect!!
