After crossing, take a rest stop and meet your guides who will brief you on the activity. Strap on your crampons and trek along the glacier, following along with your licensed guides. See unique ice formations and learn about glacier ruptures and the natural life of the region. This is the most amazing day trip and German was the absolute best guide. He made sure everyone stayed safe and had a great time on the trek. There is truly nothing like walking on the glacier and getting a hang of the crampons is easy. Recommend you bring your water bottle so you can fill it up with glacier water on the walk. The trip ends with a fun whiskey toast. The day trip also included 1.5 hrs at the glacier boardwalks which was a great amount of time to take in the glacier from several different angles.

At Heli&Adventura, trips are wonderful and offer a unique experience. I had a bad experience with the agency Patagonia Dreams, with transportation. When Ipurchased the trip, I not noticed that transportation from El Calafate is not included in the price. The cost of a taxi from El Calafate to the port is USD 170. When I contacted the agency to helped me with transportstin, they replied that they had no plase in the bus for me. It would be fair if you let me know about this at the time of purchase. At the end hotel staff helped me find suitable transportation.

The excursion was great! The weather started out very wet and windy, but we were provided with rainproof gear if our own wasn't good enough. Lots of information and plenty of photographic opportunities. I was solo, so I didn't care for the long van ride tucked in the back of a steamy bus full of sick people, but hey, it can't be perfect right?!
