Sails through the Bay to the south. The depth of the lake allows a pleasant near-shore navigation which allows observing the massifs of Cerro Fitz Roy and Huemul Hill.
What to Expect
The tour begins with a passenger pick-up from hotels in El Calafate centre, then heads towards El Chaltén, the National Capital of Trekking. You'll travel along the Route no. 40, an iconic highway that goes along the Argentino Lake up to La Leona River.
Around noon, you will enojy lunch at the Eco Camp. After that, you will get on the bus to go to the Tunnel Bay, where you will embark on a navigation of the waters of Lake Viedma, in front of the largest glacier of the national park, where the depth of the lake allows a pleasant near-shore navigation. You'll also be able to observe the Cerro Fitz Roy and the Huemul Hill. Then, around 17:30 you will begin the journey back to El Calafate.
This excursion is a great opportunity to get to know El Chalten and the Viedma Glacier, and to contemplate an unique natural scenery at the north of Glacier National Park, still unexplored.
