For over 40 years, Joseph Haydn served as the court conductor and composer for the Esterházy nobility. The famous maestro, "the father of the string quartet" and "virtuoso of ensembles," composed for exhibitions, operas, symphonies and chamber and house music, amongst these the legendary "Kaiserquartett," who first played in Eisenstadt in 1797.
Visit the "Haydn Explosive" exhibition; experience the life of this musical genius from his beginnings in Eisenstadt to his star turn in London. Discover his later works and his effects as a composer through multimedia stations, project installations and excellent exhibits. Admire the personal and business effects of the maestro and see some of his original instruments.
