Eiger

Explore the idyllic Bernese Oberland and magnificent Jungfrau mountain region on a full-day tour from Zurich. The day includes free time to explore the famous mountain resorts of Grindelwald and Interlaken, located between 2 lakes. Journey through the countryside to Interlaken in the heart of the Bernese Oberland. After orientation, continue to Grindelwald, also known as “Glacier Village.” Lookout points provide stunning views of the impressive mountainscape, including the triple peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Take the cable car to the sunny terrace of Mt. First, where you can rent unique and fun Trottibikes to whizz down to town (optional, not included). In the early afternoon, return by train to Interlaken, where you will spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the region’s shopping paradise. Choices on offer include regional produce, precious jewelry, and Swiss watches. If you don’t want to shop, you can visit Interlaken’s Harder Kulm mountain. A funicular will take you to the top for breathtaking views (optional, not included). Breathe in the fresh mountain air before meeting your guide for the return journey to Zurich and the end of the tour.

Take a scenic bus journey along the Brünig Pass and the shores of Lake Brienz to the Bernese Oberland. After a break in Interlaken, board the cable car at the Grindelwald Terminal for a spectacular 15-minute ride to the Eiger Glacier by gondola. Change to a cogwheel train that will take you to the peak of Jungfraujoch. Enjoy stunning views of the triple peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau as you ride. Immerse yourself in the High-Alpine wonderland of ice, snow, and rock at the top. Visit the Sphinx Observation Terrace and Plateau for the most breathtaking views of the Aletsch Glacier. Descend via the car-free resort of Wengen to Lauterbrunnen, from where the bus takes you back to Zurich.

Depart Lucerne and journey to the magnificent mountains of the Bernese Oberland by coach. Marvel at the splendid countryside as you drive to the beautiful resort town of Interlaken in the Jungfrau region.  After an orientation stop in Interlaken, continue to the village of Grindelwald, more than 1,000 meters above sea level. Get stunning views of the surroundings, including the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains.  Use your leisure time to ride the funicular to the terrace of Grindelwald First (optional, not included). Go for a walk or rent a Trotti bike (a scooter-like bike without a seat) and experience the dramatic scenery from a different perspective. Then, take a scenic - unescorted - train ride back to Interlaken, where you can spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Browse the shops or go to the Harder Kulm viewpoint by funicular for stunning views of the surrounding area (optional, not included).  Breathe in the fresh mountain air before meeting your guide again for the return journey to Lucerne and the end of the tour.

Venture to the top of the highest glacier in Europe and behold panoramic views of the terrain that surrounds you. Enjoy an outing in the village of Interlaken, visit the Sphinx observatory, and ride a train that will elevate you 3454 meters to the zenith of Jungfrau. Start your adventure at the Zurich Central bus station and hop aboard your air-conditioned bus. Enjoy a short and scenic drive to your first destination, Interlaken. After a quick stop in Interlaken, board the Jungfrau rack train from Grindelwald. Take in gorgeous views and ascend 3454 meters. Arrive at the top and depart from the highest altitude railway station in Europe. Take in views of the surrounding terrain from the zenith of the highest glacier in Europe. Visit the Sphinx observatory which provides you with some of the best views you can get of the two most famous peaks, Eiger and Mönch. Wander into the heart of the glacier and walk through the ice tunnel to experience the “Alpine Sensation” that traces the history of the Jungfrau. Once you get back from the top of the glacier, enjoy free time in Interlaken before taking a pleasant bus ride back to your starting point.

Your adventure will start with an approximately 15-minute scenic flight as the jump plane climbs to altitude. Enjoy the views of Interlaken’s two lakes and the incredible Swiss Alps, including the famous peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The flight is followed by a 45-second adrenaline-pumping freefall from the altitude of 4,000 m (13,000 ft). Feel the ground rushing towards you at 200 km/h (120 mph)! Once the parachute is deployed, take a deep breath and enjoy the 5-7 minute canopy ride which will safely take you back to the ground. Come summer or winter, we operate daily all year round!

Meet your pilots in Mürren and hike to the take-off field where you will get a briefing from your pilot. Then, simply take some running steps and be in the air in front of the mighty Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains. Soaring high above Mürren, witness the Lauterbrunnen valley open up below, with the sheer cliffs and waterfalls seeming close enough to touch as you glide past them like a bird on a tandem paraglide. Land in Stechelberg, on the valley bottom, next to the Stechelberg Schilthornbahn cable car station, where you can hop on the bus back to Lauterbrunnen or take the lovely waterfall walk back to the village, and walk off some of that adrenaline.

Depart from Milan on an air-conditioned coach and reach the town of Domodossola, the last Italian frontier before the Swiss border. Cutting between the Alps, your knowledgeable English-speaking guide will introduce you to the secrets of mountains and the valleys as they appear before your eyes. After around 2-hours of breathtaking panoramas, you will arrive in Spiez, on the shores of Lake Thun. Depart on your cruise to Interlaken on a state of the art steamboat.  While crossing the lake, take a moment to snap some pictures of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, 3 famous mountains whose recognizable shapes are reflected in the light blue water of the lake. Once in the Interlaken, enjoy time to explore the picturesque architecture or take a walk around the shore, where you will be able to marvel at the hang gliders peacefully soaring over the snow capped Alps in the distance.  Aside from the beautiful views, don’t forget to try some of the world’s finest Swiss chocolate at the one of the many local specialty chocolatiers that dot the town. In the late afternoon, take a train back to Domodossola before returning to Milan on an air-conditioned coach.

At the end of the afternoon, you will board the bus to go back to Zurich. Marvel again at the beauty of the area as you drive through the Jungfrau region back to your point of departure.
