Full description

Enjoy an evening of whisky appreciation on a whisky-tasting experience on Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile. Taste four single malt scotch whiskies (if selected) and enjoy storytelling from your guide.

Meet your guide on the iconic Royal Mile for a short walk to one of the supplier's outstanding whisky venues. Over the next two hours, drink 4 outstanding single malt scotch whiskies taken from the 4 major whisky-producing regions of Scotland.

Taste whiskies which range from the relatively delicate and subtle flavors of the Lowlands to the bold and robust tastes of Islay. You will also be given tasting cards giving notes on each of the whiskies that you sample. During the tour, experience some traditional storytelling and explore the significance of whisky to the Scottish identity. The entire upper floor of the venue is reserved, so there is plenty of space and privacy to conduct the story-orientated evening.

Our guide Euan was an excellent guide and storyteller. We tasted some excellent whiskey, learned about each whiskey region in Scotland, and heard some great stories. We also enjoyed the company of our fellow tourists. The venue was particularly nice as we had a whole room to ourselves. I would highly recommend this activity.

The event itself was good and the guide also presented it well and in a funny way. However, the guide was a bit difficult to understand for participants who are not native English speakers because he spoke very quickly. One should possibly take a little more consideration of this in the future.

#1 tour so far. If you like whiskey, this is the tour for you. We stayed in the same place (upstairs of a bar) and the guide would bring the samples and talk about the distilleries, gave historical stories, and played traditional and more modern Scottish music. Would do it again.
