What People Are Saying About Edinburgh
It was a very informative 3 hour tour. The telephone style audio guides were brilliant.
From the moment of boarding a whole new world opened up. To see how the Queen and her family holidayed whilst on the yacht, To visit the State Rooms and imagine the beautiful receptions that were held on those decks. The freedom to wander and the excellent audio commentary kept us enthralled all morning. We finished with hot chocolate and scones in the Tea-Room. Fantastic.
We found The Royal Yacht Britannia very well organised from start to finish. All the staff were really helpful and guided you to the right places, nothing was too much trouble. Also enjoyed having refreshments in the upper deck restaurant. Would definitely recommend to everyone.
Visited The Royal Yacht Britannia on our recent visit to Edinburgh and it was a lovely cold but dry day. It was my birthday and it was a lovely way to spend the day, the tour really does take you all around the Yacht and you see just how royalty spent their time on board. Loved the fact we could take photos and then had tea and cake in the coffee shop
I had read that this tour was expensive considering it did not include the cost of the boat ride on the Loch nor entry to Stirling Castle but I would have to say that it was worth every single pound because of the tour guide / driver Mark Addison. Mark's knowledge and passion for Scotland was exceptional and infectious. His beautiful charming personality and "no question is a silly question" attitude made the trip extra special. The whole drive was amazing, the scenery spectacular and I'm really glad I paid the extra to go on the Loch tour and go into Stirling Castle. I would have loved more time exploring Stirling Castle but understand why this isn't possible on this particular tour - if you don't want to pay the extra to go into the Castle there isn't much to do apart from walking into Stirling, which would be sensational but it isn't for the faint hearted as it is very steep.
