Edinburgh Food Tasting Tour with a Local

1. Edinburgh Food Tasting Tour with a Local

Join a local foodie and enjoy a meal at a historic pub serving traditional Scottish cuisine or at a neighbourhood restaurant that serves contemporary twists on the nation’s favourite dishes. You'll be paired with guides that are passionate about the place they call home and who choose to spend their free time sharing it with like-minded travelers matched to them. Get off the tourist trail and discover eateries that serve authentic dishes, using fresh and seasonal ingredients and classic recipes. Enjoy a soft drink, or try an excellent local craft beer or a dram of Scotch whisky with your meal. Before the meal, explore some of the city on foot and spend time getting to know your host, chatting about your favourite foods, and getting some insider recommendations for the best local places to eat for the rest of your trip. Although this is a food and drink themed experience, your host will help you to discover unique shops, inspiring places and independent galleries as well as sharing stories that you won’t find in a guidebook, making your day unique.

From Edinburgh: Private Customizable Highlands Driving Tour

2. From Edinburgh: Private Customizable Highlands Driving Tour

First, get picked up from your hotel in Edinburgh and climb into a private car or minivan to set off on your customizable tour. The route can be changed according to your personal interests and what you would like to see. There will be plenty of opportunities for photo stops throughout the journey. Venture into the Scottish Highlands and be blown away by the scenery, highland cattle, and castles that are older than some countries. Visit the graves of some of the most famous Scots who ever lived, namely Rob Roy McGregor.  Make a stop at the world-famous Deanston Whiskey Distillery, where you will have the option of touring the distillery or enjoying a tasting. Savor a sip of the 18-year-old single malt which comes thoroughly recommended.  If your feeling brave enough, have the chance to try haggis in one of the famous Scottish Gastropubs. Alternatively, have lunch in Deanston Distillery or the villages of Doune or Callander. Spend more time visiting the Scottish countryside or make a stop at Doune Castle - the choice is yours! Finally, return to Edinburgh where you will be dropped off back at your hotel and the tour concludes.

Immediately upon meeting our guide Kevin, we knew it was going to be a great day. He was very energetic and enthusiastic about showing us his beautiful country. While the scenery was breathtaking, it was Kevin that made sure we were able to take in all the day had to offer, and it was far beyond our expectations. Kevin was informative, accommodating and a great driver to boot. We highly recommend that you book a tour with Kevin.

Very nice and careful guide. He made a very interesting tour possible, took care of our wellbeing and gave us a great deal of information about Scotland. It was a lot of fun to travel with him. Gladly again. Thanks Kevin!

Personable, knowledgeable and good local food. I would book Brian again.
