This place is huge. Parking is right out the front of the building, pay at the exit. 2 queues when you go through the gates, current start time and the next time slot, it goes very quick. Palace is amazing and grounds are huge, but can be a long trek you youngsters

excellent day at Edinburgh zoo. spent 3 hours seeing everything there is to see there. we went on a Sunday and many of the refreshment stand were shut. luckily the picnic area at the top of the zoo near Lions/Giraffes, had options for sandwiches, pizza and ice cream. toilets not always open but they are plentiful. can hire strollers, scooters and mobility scooters

a general good physical health would be an advantage as you have to climb quite high, the hills can be really steep in places, but all round a brilliant day out, plenty of picnic spots and refreshments along the way, lovely restaurant and cafe too, park for the little ones, parking is reasonably priced and easy to get too
