Edinburgh: Underground Vaults and Graveyard Evening Tour

I took my best friend to Edinburgh for the night for her birthday and bought this tour as an extra surprise (we love that kind of thing). We all met at a set location for 7.30pm and the tour started right at that meeting point. You go from place to place and the host tells you the history of each location, covering topics such as witchcraft, body snatchers and ghost sightings. It was such a different experience to anything I’d done before and I would highly recommend it for couples, friends or family. I think it would scare younger children so I wouldn’t take them along. Most of the places we visited had really uneven ground so make sure you have sensible shoes on and also a warm jacket. The host really made all the difference to the experience and he was fantastic at his job! His character was perfect for the tour.

Lauren was an amazing tour guide really informative and funny, she said at the start of the tour there would be no gimics or people jumping out which was a big relief as it allowed the tour to feel completely truthful and spooky. I didnt see any ghosts but did feel things while down in the vaults. I would ahve liked the time in the vaults to be a bit longer as it was teh best part but every location we went to was very interesting and I think the information and tour seemed very well planned and humorous while scary at points. I would completely recommend this tour as it was very interesting, I would advise taking the tour at night as it's much more spooky but overall had an amazing time and will be booking back on other tours through merkat tours.
