Came full of hope as previously being told the Castle is the one to visit first and it did not disappoint at all, on contrary, blown away by its beauty, history and stories. Really well maintained, helpful staff along the way. The Abbey and gardens were a dream too. Spent nearly 4 hours at the Palace and did not really want to go but had another tour booked The Royal coffee shop is worth a visit as well, however I was overcharged Quirky detail, really enjoyed the 96 paintings of proeminent noses

We arrived early but luckily we were allowed in. The beauty of the ‘Covid’ time is that fewer people are allowed in and so the whole experience was relaxed. The courtyard is beautiful and with the use of the mobile headsets we could send our way through the rooms at our own speed. Due to the delicate tapestries the window blinds are shut which means the whole palace is v dimly lit. A lovely tour, friendly informative staff and beautiful grounds. A tasty sandwich and cuppa in the tearoom afterwards was very welcome.
