The tourist card is very useful for public transport in the Dusseldorf area, unlimited travel on bus, tram, underground and train within the city. It also entitles you to discounted entry to many public attractions but I didn't use it for this purpose. As in many European cities, the transport runs on trust but if you get caught without a ticket, the penalties are high so this card takes away any hassle of trying to buy tickets on the run.
