What to Expect
Enjoy an exciting tour that leaves from your hotel. On the way to the Phezulu Cultural Village you pass one of the big malls in Durban called Pavilion mall.
Feasts your eyes on the Valley of 1000 hills, where you reach the Phezulu Cultural Park. Take a look around and see traditional house where all sorts of local products are sold e.g masks, pin flags and jewelry. When stepping out the back door, explore a wow-view of Valley of 1000 hills.
Enter a manor where the chief will be met, hear all about his way of traditional living. The chief has 3 wives and still looking for more, as in Zulu culture a chief can marry as many wives as he wishes. A guide shows the different weapons and how they were used in a war. Watch a Zulu dance and the drama where they show how they propose traditionally and see the ceremony of a Zulu wedding. The Sngomas will perform their beliefs and rituals, and give their way of dancing.
Afterwards, you will be transferred to the Reptile park where different groups of crocodiles are living. The largest and biggest crocodile is Ramsy, he is 96 years old and has a weight of 500kg. See various snakes like Iguana, yellow anaconda, boas and others including the big Python that is 20 years old and has a weight of 40 kg. The last stop of your trip is at 1000 Hills Art Craft where traditional hand-made products are sold. Afterwards you will be taken back to your hotel.
