Free parking, short walk to the entrance, helpful staff, very child and family friendly, relatively clean toilets for the U.K. (remember it’s not Dubai!). We got up close to a tiger and the bird show was incredible. We liked the butterfly display too and like how Whipsnade has employed older staff who actively engage with families and children and explain what we’re looking at. For the talks, if you’re an adult, please stand back and let the children in front to watch the cheetahs feeding otherwise you’ll block their view but they won’t block yours :-).

Visit lions, tigers, rhinos, elephants, zebra, hippos, and giraffes in their large outdoor enclosures. Don't miss the rockhopper and African black-footed residents of the penguin pool, with its surrounding countryside views.
Next, discover new depths as you delve deeper into the fascinating underwater worlds of ZSL Whipsnade Zoo's Aquarium. Learn about endangered fish and the zoo's conservation efforts. Then, bask in the tropical temperatures of the Butterfly House, surrounded by hundreds of colorful butterflies.
When your kids need to burn off some energy, check out the new Hullabazoo outdoor play area, which opened in 2021. Let their imaginations run wild as they explore the over 7,800 m² themed play area, including bridges, swings, climbing frames, tunnels, sand play, mini safari jeep, and so much more.
