Full description

Take a day trip to Montenegro and sail down the Adriatic Coast. See Boka Kotorska Bay, explore Kotor, and wander through Perast. Come across UNESCO World Heritage Sites as you explore Montenegro.

Benefit from pickup at your accommodation in Dubrovnik and drive to the border crossing with Montenegro to climb aboard a boat and cruise to Kotor. Admire the Venetian port and defensive city walls from the water. Get breathtaking views of the fjord and learn more about the cultural heritage of Boka Kotorska Bay. Enjoy free time to explore the monuments of the Old Town.

Board the boat again and sail to the small town of Perast. Visit the artificial island of Our Lady of the Rocks on arrival, and get some free time for lunch in the beautiful town center. Stroll the streets to find Baroque palaces, Orthodox monuments, and other UNESCO World Heritage monuments at your own pace. Marvel at the stone defense towers that remain untouched, and follow in the footsteps of Russian czars and Venetian princes who sailed in Kotor Bay. Magnificent Bay of Kotor, we really do not regret having done this excursion even if in the end we spend much more time in transport than on site. Between picking up the different customers at the various hotels, waiting at the border, the distance, it's true that it's a long day for a short time of discovery.. but the place is so beautiful as, I I said at the start of the comment.

Nice trip. The visit to Kotor is pleasant, if you wish to visit the interior of the monument complex shown (it will cost 3-4€ to 10€ extra). The debatable element: asking us for 1€ claiming payment to enter the old town, wrong. Why lie rather than say that it is the payment of the local guide doing the visit of Kotor?… The boat trip gives another point of view (The island of Madonna of the rock in the middle of the bay and its orthodox architecture is sublime) Pérast was the pick-up point by bus, there is not much to see (when you have seen Dubrovnik and Kotor), but eating by the water is another panorama.

The whole trip was following a very relaxed pace, which I enjoyed. Even though you are time restricted, there is enough time for each area you go to. Our guide, Ivan, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable about the region(s) and having the extra bit of information to go alongside the areas you visit add tremendously to the whole experience. I was fortunate enough to go in a relatively small group due to it being in the pre-season, which was definitely something I preferred. If it's not too busy, I would recommend paying the extra fee to go to the man-made lake at Perast.
