Full description
Marco Polo has a vast historical heritage traveling more than 15'000 miles and inspiring generations pioneers to discover unknown lands. Other explorers before him had changed the geography of the world – Marco Polo changed its history. Interestingly, many sources suggest that Korčula is the town, where he was born around 1254! The island of Korčula undoubtedly holds a privileged position among the Croatian islands. It is full of legends, tales and monuments - more so than any other island in the Adriatic sea. Once we arrived on the island, we will start our day trip, by discovering the picturesque old town of Korcula, the main town of the Island. It is a unique experience to walk in the narrow streets, beautiful churches and magnificent palaces, of what is considered to be one of the best preserved Medieval towns in the Mediterranean. Being famous stonemasons, shipbuilders and seafarers, the people of Korčula left their marks all over the world, but they saved their best works for their own city. After our sightseeing trip in the old town of Korcula, you will have some free time for lunch. After lunch, you shouldn't miss out swimming in the crystal clear water of the island's the beautiful beaches. On our way back to Dubrovnik, we will make a stop in one of the well known wine cellars of the Pelješac peninsula, in order to sample some of the excellent local wine.

A wonderful day an a wonderful tour

This was one of the best tours I have made so far. Everything was perfectly timed and organised. I really have to compliment our guide Daniela, who did a marvellous job. Apart from being so very kind and really warm hearted, she offered so many interesting facts and information to help us get to know Korčula and the area we visited. I can really recommend this tour. Beautiful landscapes, the island itself and the excellent balance between group- and alone time for a highly fair price will reward you big time

We expect much more than it was.

The entire tour lasts 10 hours, but first stop in Ston (a small town near Dubrovnik) for 1 hour and there is nothing to do besides drink coffee. Then you go to Korčula where you stay for 4 hours, the rest of the time you are on the bus (it should be noted that it is a comfortable bus). The tour that they offer in Korčula is of very short time (30mins approx), they should offer the entrance to the house of Marco Polo which is the maximum attraction in the place. There's not much to do.
