Ston is also famous for its salt pans, which have been in operation for more than seven centuries. In Ston, you can try oysters, have some coffee, and local sweets. (OPTIONAL) *For those looking to indulge in some seafood delicacies, we have an option to visit a local oyster farm and taste famous fresh oysters taken straight from the sea for you. Oysters from Ston are considered some of the best in the world, thanks to the perfect combination of salt and fresh water in the bay. The heart of Croatian wine country Our journey then takes us to Pelješac, the heart of Croatian wine country, where we can visit two or possibly three wineries. Our first stop is at the small and traditional family-owned Ćurlin winery, located in the village of Ponikve. Here you’ll get a chance to meet the family and learn about their traditional winemaking methods, which have been passed down through generations. The Ćurlin family has been producing wine for generations, and they are known for their high-quality Plavac Mali, a red grape variety that is unique to the region. You’ll have the opportunity to taste their award-winning wines and learn about the history and culture of the region.
