Full description
If you are looking for the Dubrovnik Wine Tour, join us on an unforgettable journey through the stunning Pelješac peninsula. Pelješac peninsula is the most famous wine region of Croatia, and it begins at Ston, which is only 50 minutes drive from Dubrovnik, and then stretches all the way down to Korčula island.
Our journey starts in Dubrovnik and continues on a scenic drive towards Pelješac, making stops along the way to experience the local culture and capture some breathtaking photos. Our first stop is the view point near the small village of Majkovi, located on the hills overlooking the famous Elaphiti Islands. This stop offers the most stunning view of the entire region, where you can see the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea and a view from Dubrovnik to the Mljet national park. Here, you’ll get a chance to take some amazing photos and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Charming town of Ston
Next, we’ll visit the charming town of Ston, known for its historic city walls and the oldest salt factory in Europe. The walls of Ston are considered to be the longest fortress system in Europe, stretching for over 5,5 kilometers (remaining of the original 7 kilometers), and they were built in the early 14th century to protect the town from invaders. We’ll take a break here to explore* the walls and learn about the history and culture of this fascinating town. Ston is also famous for its salt pans, which have been in operation for more than seven centuries. In Ston, you can try oysters, have some coffee, and local sweets. (OPTIONAL) *For those looking to indulge in some seafood delicacies, we have an option to visit a local oyster farm and taste famous fresh oysters taken straight from the sea for you. Oysters from Ston are considered some of the best in the world, thanks to the perfect combination of salt and fresh water in the bay.
The heart of Croatian wine country
Our journey then takes us to Pelješac, the heart of Croatian wine country, where we can visit two or possibly three wineries. Our first stop is at the small and traditional family-owned Ćurlin winery, located in the village of Ponikve. Here you’ll get a chance to meet the family and learn about their traditional winemaking methods, which have been passed down through generations. The Ćurlin family has been producing wine for generations, and they are known for their high-quality Plavac Mali, a red grape variety that is unique to the region. You’ll have the opportunity to taste their award-winning wines and learn about the history and culture of the region.
Konoba Vitacea
For lunch, we’ll stop at Konoba Vitacea, a charming restaurant owned by a local fisherman located in Trstenik Bay. The restaurant offers a wide selection of fresh fish dishes, prepared in the traditional way and paired with the best local wines. You’ll have the opportunity to taste some of the best seafood in Croatia and enjoy the picturesque view of the Pelješac vineyards.
