Full description
Your getting-to-know-you session with Dubrovnik, historical diplomatic liason for the easy and west, begins with a cable car ride from the newly-opened cable cars station in the Old Town of Dubrovnik. You'll be treated to a panoramic view of Dubrovnik, showcasing the greatness of the entire city and its surrounding hills and centuries-old Dubrovnik rooftops. On the return journey to the main Station, your tour guide will lead you by foot to the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Though it has been subject to fires and catastrophic earthquakes, the gorgeous city has always risen again to retain its title as the world famous treasury of cultural monuments. Today's walking tour will introduce you to the best of Dubrovnik, one of the largest and most luxurious open-air museum towns in existence. To start off the day, the famous Croatian tourist centre awaits you, encircled by its monumental stone ramparts, which have preserved and enhanced Dubrovnik’s Renaissance spirit. Travel down labyrinths of short, narrow stone streets, the marketplace, palaces, towers, monasteries and houses - each of which is more than 300 years old! This city's harmony, simplicity and apprecation of beauty have, through the ages, become the basic philosophy of life for the residents of Dubrovnik.

After riding the cable car, you had a fantastic view of Dubrovnik. Then it was a tour and a lot of history to take part in with our guide Katarina who was born and raised in Dubrovnik. She was great! Recommend the guide as you get a better view of the area.

An informative tour, an a very nice guide

The tour started with a walk to the Telepheric under the rain, but because of this, the visit to the top was less crowded. Our guide Mariela was really nice, yet being a very small group, I would have loved a bit more walking around side streets of the old town, instead of long stops in the main squares.

On time led brilliantly by Mara who obviously loves her Croatia

As Australians we did not know what to expect from this tour but we're very pleasantly surprised. The guide, Mara, was exceptional and was very accommodating with any questions from the group. She represented Croatia faithfully and was very informative about its history and fight for survival and independence. She emphasised the devastation of Dubrovnik caused by the 1667 mammoth earthquake. She was very aware that some in the group needed to meet their Cruise ship and she calmly got us there in time and yet very informed about the old city etc. The cable car view was breathtaking. This was a tour where all our expectations were exceeded and it was in no small way due to the excellent representation Mara provided. We highly recommend yout organisation and this tour. Anthony E.
