Full description
Spend a morning or afternoon discovering one of Ireland's greatest secret heritage towns on an amazing Segway Heritage Trail of Trim, County Meath. Located on Dublin's doorstep, Trim is steeped in folklore, heritage and history. It is situated on the banks of the iconic River Boyne, home of the legendary Salmon of Knowledge.

Start your Segway tour on the outskirts of the town at St. Peter's Bridge, site of an ancient ford crossing of The River Boyne beside The Priory of Saint John the Baptist. Discover a multitude of heritage sites along the meandering pathways shouldering the river as you glide effortlessly towards the heritage town of Trim.

Travel back in time through the oldest and largest religious settlements in the country. Trim is drenched in history; it got its name from a church built by St. Patrick nearby and it is dominated by the medieval Trim Castle, which was built by Hugh de Lacy in 1173 and is the largest Norman castle in Europe. Explore the the 75ft square keep and grounds, where sections of the epic film Braveheart were filmed. Marvel at the fascinating ruins which surround the castle and learn about its history of fervent religious activity.
Gaze at stone relics in St. Patrick's Cathedral, its church and porch revealing a number of medieval grave slabs. Visit St. Mary's Abbey, the remains of an Augustinian monastery founded in the 12th century which became a focal point for pilgrimage. Witness the history written into the walls of The Newtown Monuments.

Listen to your experienced, fun-loving and knowledgeable guide, who claims to have feasted on that famous salmon! They will impart a wealth of local history and provide "Caint agus Craic" along the way. Your group will return back to the start point at St. Peter's Bridge to complete your adventure.
