Full description
The Teeling Whiskey Distillery is the first new distillery opened in Dublin in over 125 years and has brought the craft of distilling back into the heart of the city. Located in the historic Liberties area of Dublin, an area long associated with brewing and distilling, the new distillery is a 3-copper pot still operation reviving the traditional style of Dublin whiskey distillation. Experience the sights, smells, sounds, and tastes of a fully operational distillery on a self-guided tour followed by a tasting of the award-winning Teeling range. Teeling Whiskey Distillery is open 7 days a week and also boasts the Bang Bang bar where you can enjoy rare whiskeys and handcrafted cocktails, shop for Teeling Whiskey and mementos of your trip, and the Phoenix Café offering local artisan tea and coffee and a range of locally produced sweet and savory treats and snacks. Please note, the local partner will ask visitors to declare at the booking stage and on arrival if traveling from non-green list countries if they have self-isolated for 14 days, as per the Irish government guidelines. If visitors have not self-isolated they will not be permitted on the tour. See link to current green list countries:

If you are into Irish whiskey, you should choose the tour with the four "drinks". It shows the entire spectrum of the house. For everyone else, the easy tour would be enough. The cocktail is not likely to appeal to whiskey lovers, whoever drinks whiskey enjoys the time, this should be taken into account when visiting the tour

The personal tour in English is informative and also allows individual questions. The group I used was manageable and everyone could see everything. However, due to the personal tour, there were time constraints, so you might have to wait 30 minutes to take the tour. It is therefore advisable to appear there at 2 or 3 p.m., so that you still have enough climb for the evening. Or are there whiskey drinkers before noon?

I was little enthusiastic about visiting the Jameson Distillery a few years ago without knowing the reason for it. So this time I chose the Teeling Distillery and was enthusiastic from the first minute of the tour. In contrast to the Jameson Distillery, the Teeling Distillery provides a very good insight into the production and distribution of the whiskey. Photographing and filming is permitted at any time and in any place and is also desired. The tour is accompanied by a guide (in our case by the extremely nice and competent Michelle). It is possible to ask the guide questions at any time. We decided on the "small tour" (around € 17). In addition to a glass of whiskey, a cocktail is included in the price. This variant is recommended for everyone who is not very familiar with whiskey or who wants to try out the taste first. At the end of the tour you will also learn the recipe of the delicious cocktail to imitate.
