Visit 3 top Ireland attractions and kiss the famous Blarney Stone on this full-day trip from Dublin. Travel to Blarney Castle, Cork City and the Rock of Cashel in a luxury motor-coach, passing through beautiful Irish countryside on the way.
What to Expect
Set off on board a luxury, air-conditioned motor-coach and watch Dublin's urban cityscape give way to the rolling, green hills of the Irish countryside. This full-day trip will drive through several areas of interest, including the Galtee Mountains and the Curragh in County Kildare, which is home to Ireland's National Stud Farm and is famous as a sporting region.
Passing south through County Laois, your tour will arrive at the Rock of Cashel. This imposing Celtic cathedral towers above the town of Cashel from a limestone mound, approximately 200 feet (61 meters) high. Admire the 12th Century bell tower, the Hall of Vicars Choral, and Cormac's Chapel - home to the oldest Romanesque wall painting in Ireland.
From the Rock of Cahel, your tour will continue to Cork City, for approximately one and a half hour of independent sightseeing. Enjoy lunch at the English Market, or perhaps visit the triple-spired St. Finn Bar's Cathedral. Your guide will be happy to provide recommendations of further things to do in Ireland's second-largest city.
On leaving Cork, you'll head up to Blarney Castle. This beautiful medieval castle is home to one of Ireland's most beloved treasures - the Blarney Stone. According to legend, kissing the stone bestows the kisser with the "gift of the gab", which is the talent for talking yourself out of any situation, which the Irish famously possess. Also do not miss the Poison Gardens and Rock Close, a truly enchanted spot, before heading back to Dublin.
