Full description
Travel out of Dublin and into the countryside around on a 5-hour morning or afternoon tour to Glendalough and Wicklow. The tour begins with an introduction to Dublin City, as you head south toward County Wicklow, known affectionately as the Garden of Ireland. Sparkling lakes, dense forests, and romantic babbling brooks make this a spectacular scenic drive and a fine day out from the big city. You will also see the scenery made famous by films such as Braveheart and P.S. I Love You. Make your way over the Wicklow Mountains to Glendalough, the valley of the 2 lakes. Enjoy a relaxing walk to the Upper Lake and explore the monastic ruins of St. Kevin's monastery. Then enjoy lush surroundings as you make your way through the Sally Gap before returning to Dublin.

I'm delighted that there is an afternoon half day tour to glendalough, instead of first thing in the morning, which is also provided to glendalough. The driver is extremely informative and interesting to listen to and superb at his job as a guide aswell and I want to take this tour again in the future, thank you Paddy wagon for your service!

We drove an hour and a half to the Wicklow Mountains and then an hour and a half back. At the Wicklow Mountains we had about 2 hours for a nice walk. Not much was told, but that is also not easy if you are a driver at the same time. If you know what to expect it was totally fine!

The excursion did not correspond exactly to what we had imagined. We were driven to Glendalough and then left free for 1 hour and a half. It's quite short and we thought in view of the previous comments that we would make other stops and that we would have more info on what we were going to see ... the driver was friendly of course but he told us more about his life and details unrelated to the visit (such an actor stayed in such a hotel on the way... yay), it was embarrassing. On the way back he gave us some info on Dublin and the country, it looked like he was trying to catch up. Also on the way there it was stiflingly hot in the bus and we were barely breathing + we were tight In the end we were happy to go see this site for less than a car rental but that's the only advantage !
