My husband and I had a wonderful time with Manish K. on the Dubai "Souks, Sheiks and Spices Private History Tour" November 23. Be sure to ask for Manish by name. We asked him to customize the tour and so he did, taking us on an in-depth adventure in all the Deira Souks, from the Spice Souk to the Textile Souk to the Gold Souk. Manish knows so much history and is very warm and friendly as well as intelligent. We heard all about the founding of Dubai, how the pearl fishers started the economy, and saw Heritage House, the first real house built in Dubai by the ruling family. Manish answered our questions about the beautiful Emirati architecture with old-style wind tunnels used to cool the air. We didn't mean to shop but he also got us amazing bargains and enough snacks for a whole week in the souks. Finally he helped us hire a private 30-minute ride on an Abra ferry at Deira Old Souk Marine Station which allowed us to see everything from river (Dubai Creek) and land on the other side in B

Highly recommend for anyone visiting Dubai to get some truly local insight of its history. Orlina, our local guide was sharing lot’s of her insights and answering any questions we had during our walk. Totally personable and we truly enjoyed the one-on-one w/ a local one just won’t get in a conventional city tour.

The tour was amazing, strolling through the old heritage district, stt galleries, coffee museum and zouk (cloth, spices and gold) was a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide was fantastic, very caring and gave us important local hints on the culture and explained everything in great detail. We were able to customize the route and visit all shops we wanted always feeling safe and in good neighborhood. Always again!
