Enjoy a drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, where you’ll admire the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage and modern architectural treasures. Return to Dubai by seaplane, taking in the views of Dubai’s spectacular skyscrapers and manmade islands.
What to Expect
Your 5-hour program begins with a comfortable drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, where you’ll start your sightseeing tour with a visit to the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
This architectural marvel is the largest mosque in the UAE and can accommodate 40,000 worshippers. It features 82 domes, 1,000 columns, 24-carat gold gilded chandeliers, and the world's largest hand-knotted carpet. Reflective pools surround the mosque, amplifying its beauty.
Pass by the area of Al Bateen, the first populated area in Abu Dhabi, on the way to the Emirates Palace Hotel, another architectural marvel. The hotel is the essence of palatial yet traditional Arabic architecture and is one of the most impressive hotels in Abu Dhabi. It features 114 breathtaking 18-meter-high domes, and ornate hotel rooms and luxury suites decorated in gold and marble.
You’ll have a chance to try the signature Gold Coffee here. Also known as the Palace Cappuccino, this superior blend of aromatic coffee is sprinkled with gold flakes to give you a taste of royalty, making it unlike anything you have ever tried before.
Continue on to Heritage Village, and then along the corniche to Qasr Al Hosn Fort, Abu Dhabi’s symbolic birthplace. Qasr al Hosn began life in the 1760s as a watchtower, made of coral and sea stone, with a commanding position overlooking the sea. It was later transformed into an impenetrable fort.
In the 1950’s an iconic palace was built to enclose the fort, which was transformed into a museum and repository of collections relating to Abu Dhabi and the Gulf.
Take a short drive to the seaplane jetty at Yas Marina to settle into your shared, 9-passenger Cessna aircraft. After a safety briefing the plane will take off from the water for your flight back to Dubai.
Enjoy aerial views of Abu Dhabi’s skyline and sparkling Arabian Gulf. Climb to up to 1,500 feet, taking in views of the sail-shaped Burj Al-Arab Hotel, Palm Jumeirah, the World Islands and Burj Khalifa, before landing on historic Dubai Creek.
