What People Are Saying About Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve
This was an amazing trip to the dessert. Enjoyed all aspects from the sand dune safari, camel ride, getting a henna tattoo and local food and drink. Much better than we expected. Thanks :)
We had a great time. The excursion was very organized, it ran well with multiple things offered for one's enjoyment. It was fun, exciting and at times relaxing, as well. Very much worth the price of the ticket. One of the best parts of our vacation!
I was a bit sceptical when booking. Yes it is a touristy thing to do, but the organisation was spot on. You see real desert. Camel ride is short but fun. The food, drink and entertainment is spot on. Arabian adventures were excellent.
There is no way not to do such a trip. We were also lucky enough to get the best guide, called Yasir. He was so friendly. You better watch out your head while driving down the desert, those dunes are really tricky. After all that experience, you can enjoy a traditional meal in the middle of nowehere, where you can watch the stars while eating. It was so delicious.
Slightly disappointed that we didn't see more large animals during our walk but I know sightings, by their nature, are unpredictable. We did, however, see oryx and a deer at the feeding troughs. I loved the experience of walking in the desert at night; a perfect place to see the stars. It was a pity that we could see the lights of civilisation on the fringes. The campsite was interesting, fun and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed trying the shisha. The drinks were as expected but the snacks were too similar, all being pancakes of one sort or another. I thought we might have had more variety. like olives, houmos, or similar. Overall, however, it was an inforgettable experience.
