Full description
Visit Drumheller on this full-day guided excursion. Explore rugged canyonlands and get up close and personal with fossils and monolithic hoodoo rock formations. After meeting with your guide, depart from Calgary and ride out to Dinosaur Valley. Listen to tales about the incredible array of species that have been unearthed there. When you arrive, head to the visitor center to check out fossils and artifacts gathered from more than 40 species of dinosaurs discovered nearby. Consider expanding your knowledge of prehistoric life and creatures with an optional visit to the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology. Then, proceed to Horseshoe Canyon, where the Red Deer River makes a U-turn in steep, stratified canyons. Further down the river, cross and stop at the Star Mine Suspension Bridge and hear about the coal workers who built it in 1931. We appreciated David who listened to the group. He gave us lots of information during the trip. There is no landscape like in Drumheller it feels like on the moon. We really enjoyed the Tyrrell museum. Entrance fees are extra and the visit is autonomous. We were with the Calgary Tour. The tour was in English and Chinese. We recommend.
