Full description

Embark on a journey along the majestic Douro River, nestled in the heart of the world's oldest wine demarcated region and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Begin your adventure from Pinhão, where you'll board a boat that will take you to the mouth of the River Tua. Enjoy a leisurely 1-hour cruise upstream along the Douro River. Upon reaching Tua, disembark from the boat and commence your kayak expedition back to Pinhão. Immerse yourself in the stunning scenery of terraced vineyards adorning the hillsides as you paddle along the 12-kilometer route back to Pinhão.

1 hour boat trip and then a 3 hour (with a stop for a picnic) kayak return. Really clear instructions and nice people! It’s a tough kayak and we were tired at the end but a good tired. Would really recommend!!

It was even better than we expected. We thought we would have to kayak upstream then down but getting the boat upstream then kayaking back was great. The views can’t be better. The audioguide was good. It was just the right distance (10km with a small current) Highly recommended way to see the Douro river.

Download the audio app before you go. We couldn’t on the boat, so no guide. We opted for the kayak back from Tua option. It’s an open kayak, so wear lots of sun screen. Adjust seat straps before you start - they don’t do it for you. It’s a 12 km trip which is far in this boat even with the current (2 hours minimum) Go as early as you can in the morning.
