From La Spezia: Highlights of Cinque Terre with A Guide

1. From La Spezia: Highlights of Cinque Terre with A Guide

Join a private guide to explore the 5 towns that make up the Cinque Terre — Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza, Corniglia, and Monterosso — on a day trip from La Spezia. Start your tour with a van, hop on a ferry, and take a train. After meeting your guide at the cruise terminal of La Spezia, take a half-hour trip to Riomaggiore, perched on a terraced hillside high above the Ligurian coast. Make stops along the way to admire a panoramic view of the Cinque Terre villages. Once in Manarola, experience the intricate layout of this village as you walk along the narrow lanes and steep stairways between the colorful cliffside houses and the marina. Continue the trip by taking a ferry to the fishing village of Vernazza. Visit the terrace of Doria Castle which offers panoramic views of the village and its coast. Then, it's time to sample the local cuisine. Take recommendations from your guide and go to a local restaurant to enjoy lunch. After your lunch break, take the train to Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the Cinque Terre villages and the only one with sand beaches in the area. Stroll through the narrow winding alleys of its historical center, and admire its many medieval buildings. From there, travel back to La Spezia by train and van.

Cinque Terre: Hybrid Boat Tour with Swimming Stop

2. Cinque Terre: Hybrid Boat Tour with Swimming Stop

Embark on a captivating journey that unveils the heart of Cinque Terre from the sea. The following itinerary starts from Monterosso, but it's also possible to begin the tour from La Spezia, with the same attractions included. Get ready to discover the iconic villages along the sea. As your boat tour departs from Monterosso, the northernmost village of Cinque Terre, you're immediately enveloped in its lively atmosphere and historical charm. Monterosso, known for its beautiful beaches and lush lemon trees, serves as the perfect starting point for your adventure. As you glide southward, the next spectacle is Vernazza, arguably the most picturesque of the five villages. With its natural harbor and colorful houses clinging to steep terraces, Vernazza is a photographer's dream. The Doria Castle and the Santa Margherita d'Antiochia Church stand as timeless sentinels over this vibrant fishing village. As the coastline unfurls, a special moment awaits—a leisurely stop at Cinque Terre's most secluded beach. Here, in the midst of crystal-clear waters, indulge in a refreshing swim followed by an aperitif featuring local specialties, a true taste of Ligurian hospitality. Continuing along the coast, you reach Corniglia, the only village perched high above the sea, offering breathtaking panoramic views from its vantage point. Surrounded by terraced vineyards, Corniglia feels like a step back in time with its narrow streets and quaint piazzas, embodying the tranquil essence of rural Italian life. Manarola, your next stop, is a cascade of multi-colored houses that seem to emerge straight from the rock itself. This village is renowned for its lively waterfront where the houses seem to dive into the sea. The romance of Manarola is unmatched. The final jewel in the Cinque Terre crown is Riomaggiore, the southernmost village, a picturesque coast-side village with postcard-perfect panoramas at every bend. The boat will navigate back to Monterosso, concluding a journey that has taken you through the heart of the Cinque Terre's unparalleled beauty.

We were a party of 6 looking to get a taste of the Cinque Terre villages on our port day from cruising. What we got was a fantastic tour with Francesco. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the region he was able to cater to our whims and change the itinerary along the way. We ended up stopping at a cove where my kids were able to do some swimming and diving on what was an incredibly hot day. I highly recommend this tour and his services for anyone interested in visiting Cinque Terre.

Fantastic experience. Great guide. Helped make a lunch reservation with wonderful food and a once in a lifetime view. Timing was perfect. Our son loved it as well. Bear in mind a good amount of walking/stairs, so plan accordingly. Solid history and conversation across the day as well as a great deal of fun.

Great activity, guide available and attentive. Spoke French, English and Italian. Smooth organization of means of transport to visit the Cinques Terres... nice day in the end
