You will arrive in Ha Giang city at 3:30 am and check-in at our hostel for a few hours of rest. Day 1: Ha Giang City – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van town (155km) We begin our day with a delicious breakfast at 8:00 am. Afterward, meet our guide and start our motorbike tour. We ride through the stunning landscapes of Bac Sun pass, Quan Ba Heaven gate, Quan Ba Twin mountains, and Can Ty pass. Take a lunch break in Yen Minh town before continuing our tour to Tham Ma pass and The Hmong King’s Palace. Check in at a hotel in Dong Van town, where we enjoy a delicious dinner and free walking around the ancient town. Day 2: Dong Van Town – Ma pi Leng pass – Meo Vac – Du Gia village (100km) Start the day with breakfast at a local restaurant 8:00 am, and if it’s the weekend, we visit the Dong Van Sunday market. We then continue our tour and ride through the Sky pass, the breathtaking Ma Pi Leng Pass, doing boat riding in Nho Que River and Hmong villages with picturesque views. Take a lunch break in Mau Due village before heading to Du Gia village, where we ride through Sa Li Pass, Lung Ho Viewpoint, and visit the beautiful Du Gia waterfall. Check in at a homestay of the Tay ethnic in Du Gia village, where we have a family-style dinner. Day 3: Du Gia village – Duong Thuong – Luong Tam – Nam Dam (40km) Begin the day with breakfast at the homestay, where we enjoy the stunning mountain views. We visit the Du Gia market (on Saturday), Duong Thuong viewpoint, and Lung Tam Village, known for its unique hemp weaving. After a lunch break in Tam Son town, check in at a homestay in Nam Dam Village, where we have dinner. Day 4: Nam Dam – Lung Khuy – Ha Giang. (40km) After breakfast at the homestay, we visit the breathtaking Lung Khuy cave, known for its impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Then take a lunch break in Tam Son town before finishing our tour at hostel at 5 pm. We take a comfortable bus from our hostel to Hanoi at 7:30-8:30 pm and arrive in Hanoi at 2 am and conclude our unforgettable adventure through the majestic Ha Giang loop.

The minimum time to give the Northern Ha Giang Loop any justness is three days. We call it jokingly ‘hurry, hurry’ to indicate that it would be three quite long days of motorcycling. The tour would still ensure the completion of the full loop with inclusion of Heaven’s Gate, the Highland of Stone, Dong Van, the Ma Pi Leng mountain pass and the backroads of the spectacular inner Ha Giang mountains. There will be no time for lazy sleep-in mornings, and we will be out on the road at 8:30 am each of the days. Possibility to self-drive or to ride pillion (behind guide/driver). If self-driving, we recommend sound prior motorcycling experience Accommodation will be one night in ethnic minority homestay and one night in hotel (choice of doing both nights in homestay) Itinerary The tour may be done clockwise or anti-clockwise around the loop and will depend on driving skills, seasons and market-days. For the tour to include Dong Van or Meo Vac weekly Sunday market it needs to start on a Friday morning. Day 1: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Du Gia, approx. 120 km drive After some breakfast, we go out on ‘Road of Happiness’ and start driving north out of Ha Giang City. We climb up the Quan Ba mountain pass and enter the Dong Van Geopark and reach the Heaven’s Gate and pass the Fairy Hills. In or around the small town of Tam Son we find our lunch. Thereafter we venture deep into Ha Giang mountains and reach the picturesque village of Du Gia. Here we will stay with an ethnic minority family at their homestay. We will have dinner and breakfast with the family. (Day includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Day 2: Du Gia – Meo Vac – (Ma Pi Leng) – Dong Van – Lung Cu – Dong Van, approx. 110 to 150 km drive We say thanks to the family of the homestay and head north, passing some of the most magnificent mountain passes you will ever have seen, pass the town of Meo Vac (where we take lunch) and move up the majestic Ma Pi Leng mountain pass before reaching Dong Van, the most northern town in Vietnam. Depending on season (days are very short in December – February) and weather we may continue up to Lung Cu, the most northern point of Vietnam. The Lung Cu Flag Tower can be climbed for stunning views. Back to Dong Van where we take into a hotel or homestay as agreed for the tour. Maybe a Hot Pot for dinner?! (Day includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Day 3: Dong Van – Sa Phin – Yen Minh – Tam Son – Ha Giang City, approx. 150 km drive After breakfast, we start our journey south. Soon we reach Sa Phin where we find the one-hundred-year-old palace of Vuong Chinh Duc – the King of H’mong people. We go down the Highland of Stone and reach Yen Minh where we take lunch and then climb a mountain pass covered in pine forest and sweeping rice terraces along our drive. Down to the Song La river valley until the road takes us up to Tam Son, over the Quan Ba mountain pass and back to Ha Giang. Spend the night sleeping on the bus and arrive at your Ha Giang hostel early the next morning. DAY 1: HA GIANG - THAI AN - DU GIA (DISTANCE 120KM B -L- D) at 8:00 am we wake up and have breakfast at the Hostel and prepare everything for the journey, At 8:30 am we meet the tour guide and start the journey to conquer the beautiful Ha Giang loop, the beautiful winding pass road from Ha Giang. Going up to Thai An, the wonderful scenery below the pass is the clear blue river. and go deeper, cross Thai An pass and have lunch at a small streamside village in Thai An village. After lunch, continue going to Duong Thuong Valley, a rare beauty in Vietnam. We drive surrounded by towering mountains and cornfields next to the road. Arriving at Du Gia in the afternoon, we will go to the fairy waterfall to relax after a day of sightseeing. In the evening, we will enjoy a Vietnamese dinner and sing karaoke and drink happy water with everyone at the Homestay. DAY 2: DU GIA – MAU DUE – MA PI LENG PASS – DONG VAN ( DISTANCE 110KM (B–L–D ) After breakfast, we say goodbye to the local homestay. First we will visit Ngam La village and the valley with stretching mountains creating an extremely majestic scene. Go to Mau Due village where lunch is served. After lunch, we continue to cross the majestic mountains to reach Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the most beautiful passes in Vietnam. Looking down from above, the Nho Que river is like a shimmering green thread stretching down from the sky. Nestled among the vast mountains and forests of the Northeast, we continue to go to the Nho Que River to take a boat to enjoy the timeless beauty of the Nho Que River alongside the rocky mountains. Arriving in Dong Van in the late afternoon, we enjoy a local dinner and end a long day admiring the majestic scenery.
