Doi Inthanon National Park

Start your day of adventure at 8:00 AM when your private guide and driver picks you up from your hotel. You'll drive through the west of Chiang Mai to the Doi Suthep Temple, the most famous landmark in Chiang Mai and a sacred site among the locals. Thai people say you haven’t truly been to Chiang Mai if you haven't visited Doi Suthep. At the top of the temple, marvel at the shining gold and jeweled pagoda made in the Lanna architecture style. Listen to the chanting of the monks while you admire the panoramic views of the whole city of Chiang Mai from the viewing platform.  Next, you'll head to Doi Inthanon National Park where Thailand's highest peak is located. The area is covered by lush green preserved forests and has become one of the country's best parks. Stop at the halfway point up to the peak where you can admire the beautiful Wachirathan Waterfall and enjoy the flavors the real Thai food for lunch. After lunch, continue the drive up the mountain and enjoy the amazing views along the way. At the summit, visit the King, and Queen Pagoda and the beautiful surrounding gardens.  On the return trip, you'll make a final stop at a local market on the way down the mountain before heading back to your hotel in Chiang Mai.

08.00 a.m. Depart 2 hours from Chiang Mai by driving up to mountain Inthanon National Park, where Thailand’s highest mountain. The first stop at the highest spot rises to 2,565 meters above sea level, then takes a short walk around Angka Nature Trail, the rainforest rich with rare flora, animals and birds. Continue by road to visit two pagodas, built in honor of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand on each of their 60th birthdays. Wander at Hmong Market sells its own products, especially vegetables and seasonal fruits. Lunch at The Royal Project restaurant After that, start a 2-hours trek along the Pha Dok Siew Nature Trail. Hike through shady forests and up and down the scenic jungle. Absorb a panoramic view of the rice terrace with the blue color of the sky, especially Sep - Nov. Continue hike to Karen hill tribe village to learn their way of life and upon arrival, wrap up the trip with savor the freshly ground and brewed coffee. 03.30 p.m. Driving 2 hours for returning to the city and drop off.

Explore Doi Intanon National Park, home to Thailand’s highest peak, on this full-day tour from Chiang Mai. A member of the local Karen hill tribe will be your guide during the hike. After pick-up from your hotel in Chiang Mai city in the morning, visit Wachirathan Waterfall and Karen Village at Doi Inthanon which is considered as the highest mountain in Thailand. While visiting this village, you will get to taste some fresh coffee right from the plantation. After that, your lunch will be served at the Royal Project Restaurant. Here, produce from the Queen's agricultural projects are transformed into delicious meals. After lunch, you enjoy a truly unique experience by walking 2.5-3 kilometers along Kew Mae Pan Nature trail through the beautiful green forest, passing giant rhododendrons, waterfalls and streams which leads to a cliff where you can enjoy breathtaking mountain views. Then, drive up to the highest peak and take a short stroll along Angka Natural Trail (15-20 minutes). On the way back, stop at Phra Maha Dhatu Nabha Metaneedol and Nabhapol Bhumisiri, more commonly known as the Two Royal Stupas which were built to honor King Bhumibhol and Queen Sirikit of Thailand for their 60th birthdays respectively. Return to Chiang Mai by late afternoon.
