Full description
In the morning, you will be picked up by your friendly driver in the comfort of your accommodation. After a short meet and greet, you will set-off to discover the wonders of Southern Tunisia.  Start your journey by leaving the island of Djerba, travelling down an old Roman road and taking stunning holiday pictures of Chahbania along the way. Continue to Tataouine, the city that gave its name to the planet "Taooine" in the Star Wars Saga, and enjoy some free time to walk in the market - a great place to refine your haggling skills.  Continue on your tour toward Chenini, the berber village overlooking the mountain and stay for about an hour with your local guide. This guide will be pleased to introduce you to the various components of the village: the oil mill, the mosque, houses carved into the walls of the mountains and the attic and much more. After this introduction you'll get to feast on a delicious meal consisting of local food. From here, continue to Ksar Ouled Soltane, where some scenes from the Star Wars movie "The Phantom Menace" were shot. To round off your fantastic day, head back to Djerba in an air-conditioned vehicle.

With our guide Samir we hit the bull's eye. He brought us all the sights in a convincing and entertaining way. We were in good hands with him and would book a tour with him again at any time. The tour is recommended for everyone who would like to experience real life in Tunisia, outside of the tourist hotspots.

Very good trip. We saw salted lake which is very impressive. We had some free time in Tataouine to buy local goods. Chenini is worth to see for everyone who likes history. Lunch was very tasty. Guide very friendly. Unfortunatelly Ksar Hadada was closed, so we missed that. Anyway I fully recommend.

Visit to Tataouine alone, the guide and the driver will drop you off at the tourist office and meet 3 / 4H later. You find yourself alone in a market without knowing the codes, and as you have the impression of being like a piggy bank on feet by the natives, you do not necessarily dare to ask questions, for fear of being hit by merchants who push you to buy. This visit allows you to realize the standard of living (poor) of Tunisians and what is available and accessible for them, but it would be interesting to be aware of it before. If you do not want to be confronted with this reality, this stage is without interest or even unpleasant (the city is neither beautiful nor clean). In Chenini, interesting troglodyte houses, the tourist trap with "industrial handicrafts" objects before getting back into the vehicles. lunch is ok.Ksar Hadada is under construction, with a finished and very pretty part. Beautiful landscapes.
