Stories will begin to flow as you and your guides discuss the rich history throughout our county. Paddling through the straight, it's amazing to think directly below you is an old town flooded after the construction of Dillon Dam in the 1960s. Around halfway, take the chance to explore Pirate's Cove — a secluded and protected bay located inside a large island. This is one of the most popular photo destinations and is a great time to take a break and relax. From Pirate's Cove, paddle along the northern banks of Dillon spotting popular campgrounds and a great blue heron rookery. This rookery supports 10 to 15 nesting pairs of herons and depending on the time of year you might spot one of the newborns learning to fly. Two hours into the tour, kayak through Giberson Bay. This bay is fairly shallow with numerous islands offering the perfect habitat for moose, ducks, beavers, and more. Head back towards the Frisco Bay Marina.
