Dia, Crete

Sail with us to the exotic Dia island on our large and comfortable sailing yachts. Our journey begins at the Heraklion Old venetian harbor. As we start, we pass by the glorious Koules fortress which is built right at the entrance of the marina. A few minutes later we exit the main port of Heraklion and we set sails for our destination. As you admire the beautiful Cretan sea and enjoy the feel of sailing our crew will tell you about the legend of Dia island and its history. About 1 hour later we arrive to the bay of Dia. There you can enjoy the crystal turquoise waters and our many water activities such as snorkeling, fishing, paddle boarding and more (the standup paddle boards are not available under rough wind conditions for safety reasons). While at anchor in the bay our crew will be happy to offer you any piece of equipment for our water activities and serve you plentiful drinks so please don't hesitate to request it from them. About 1 hour later our delicious Mediterranean menu is served and includes Greek salad and several appetizers, while the main course is shrimp linguini (we also offer vegetarian and gluten free versions of the menu upon request). You can also accompany your meal with the finest wine, beer, ice tea or soft drinks. Around 30 minutes later our fruit salad of tropical and local fruits is served. After you finish your meal you will have a few last moments of relaxation on the yacht or in the refreshing water before we will set sails once again to Heraklion and say goodbye to the beautiful scenery full of joy and great memories. You can choose between the morning or the afternoon cruise with the sunset view. We look forward to welcome you on board for an unforgettable day!

Be welcomed aboard a spacious yacht by the captain and crew in the morning and set off towards Dia island. Sail with us to the natural island of Dia with our comfortable sailing yachts and our very experienced crews. We start our trip from Heraklion Old venetian harbor where you can admire the old Venetian fortress. Should the conditions help we sail with the wind and enjoy the magic of wind sailing. It will take us about 1 hour and a 10-20 minutes to get to Dia Island, always depending on the weather conditions. On our way to the Island , our crew (captain and host(ess) will tell you about the history of the island and can answer any questions that you may have about Crete. Once we arrive you will have the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear water, observe the underwater world with equipment provided by us, use the paddle board, have a drink and relax. For FULL DAY cruise we will prepare you a nice traditional meal composed by a Greek salad, tzatziki and pasta with seafood (we can adjust the menu in case of allergy or any specific diet). After our lunch we will set sails to an other bay of the island and you will enjoy a different landscape and have time for swim and enjoy some fruits and a traditional digestive that we called RAKI. In case the weather does not allow us to go to an other bay we will just spend more time in our first stop. The HALF DAY option will serve morning turkey club sandwiches. tomatoes, cheese and green salad, sunset - pasta with tomato sauce instead of a full meal and stay in our main bay for enjoying more time swimming and snorkeling. It s time to end our day saying goodbye to Dia Island and thank you for this nice memories that we have shared together. We start our trip back to Heraklion on the designated time that the crew informs you and again we open sails should the weather permits. Once we arrive back at the port we will escort you back to the meeting spot or transfer. We are looking to welcome you on board soon :-)

We are offering our guest a nice day away from the shore, Dia island is a natural place no one lives there so it's an opportunity to be surrounded by quietness and nature. The trip starts from Heraklion port and it will take us around 1 hour to sail over there, as soon as we arrive the guests can jump into the sea, do some snorkeling, we also have a paddle board to explore the area. Should the conditions help we sail with the wind and enjoy the magic of wind sailing. For HALF-day cruise we will prepare you a nice pasta with tomato sauce. After our dinner we will set sails to another bay of the island and you will enjoy a different landscape and have time for swim and enjoy some fruits and a traditional digestive that we call RAKI. In case the weather does not allow us to go to another bay we will just spend more time in our first stop. During the half day option, we will stay in our main bay for enjoying more time swimming and snorkeling. We start our trip back to Heraklion on the designated time that the crew informs you and again we open sails should the weather permits. We are 10 persons max.

Before you board your sailboat, soak in the sight of the ancient fortress. The trip to Dia Island takes about an hour, depending on the weather. Along the way, keep an eye out for dolphins while listening to fascinating stories about the island's legend and history. If you wish, you can participate in the sailing activities. After you arrive at Dia Island, enjoy free time to explore the crystal-clear waters. Go snorkeling, try your hand at fishing, go paddleboarding, or go for a hike on the island. If you prefer, chill out on the deck with a drink. After about an hour, enjoy a delicious Mediterranean meal. Feast on fresh Greek salads, tasty appetizers, and seafood pasta. Wash it all down with wine, beer, or soft drinks. After lunch, you'll have plenty of time to swim and enjoy some delicious fruit paired with a traditional drink called raki before heading back to Heraklion. If you take the afternoon tour, admire the stunning colors of the sunset as you cruise home.

Our crew will meet at the Old Venetian port and welcome you on board, where you will be given a briefing about safety and boat handling. We set our sails and we are off to our destination,the beautiful Dia island. Dia is an uninhabited island, 7 nautical miles north of Heraklion and is protected by the Natura 2000 project because of its biodiversity. Our trip there lasts almost one hour, during which you can enjoy the beauty of the sea, the silence and calmness and get informed on eco sailing and marine life around Crete or participate in the sailing activities with our skilled skipper! We set anchor on either Agios Georgios or Panagia bay (depending on the weather conditions), which are located on the south part of the island. Both coves are known for their green, crystal waters surrounded by the protected wildlife, like the medium sized “Falco Eleonorae” the lizard Podarcis erchardii schiebeli, the wild goat Capra Aegagrus Cretica, an important rabbit population which belongs to the endemic subspecies Oryctolagus cuniculus cnossicus and the monkseal Monachus monachus. Ask our team on everything you want to know about the history and the myths of this island! For about one hour and a half, you will enjoy these beautiful water with swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing or socialising with your fellow adventurers! Cool refreshments and seasonal fruit will accompany the fun! And if you are already feeling hungry after a full morning our skipper and host has prepared for you a warm lunch on spot, made exclusively from fresh and local ingredients! After your lunch and perhaps after a quick dive, we will set our sails again to return back to Heraklion Venetian port. Have your cameras ready in case we spot some of our lovely mammal friends, the dolphins.
