Such an incredible day trekking with Ranjeet! He has grown up hiking these mountains and has a wealth of information on treking techniques, local foliage, the local people and many others treks nearby. He had great spots to take photos at along the way and never rushed me. He was very friendly and welcoming with great English skills while also giving me some alone time to enjoy the summit once we reached the top (which was an incredible and peaceful view). We ate rhodedenrums (many ayurvedic benefits) along the way as, luckily for me, they were in perfect bloom in early April. We even bumped into his Dad collecting nettle leaves along the way. It was a true local experience and I couldn't recommend it enough!

Full description

Meet your guide at Main square of McLeod ganj market (meeting Point) and will take you location where the hike will start as per scheduled pick up time. Walk through the mixed forest of oak, rhododendron and deodar trees. The trail is well marked all the way up to Triund. From McLeod Ganj it is 3/4 hours steep ascent to Triund. Small tea shops on the way can provide good refreshments. Triund is an alpine meadow situates atop a flat ridge with fine views of peaks of Dhauladhars on one side an Kangra valley on the other side. After light lunch at Triund start descending to McLeod Ganj. Take the same route on the way back or follow the grassy ridge which will lead to Bhagsu Nag Temple, after crossing a small waterfall on the way. McLeod Ganj is only 1.5 Km from the Bhagsu Nag by road. When the tour ends, you will return to original meeting point.

Great hike! Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful with a group of mixed abilities. He had very good English, was punctual and friendly. He showed us the best spots for a snack or food on the hill.
