Full description
Embark on a journey through Denver's rich history and vibrant cocktail culture with this guided tour starting at the heart of the city, Union Station. Your local guide will provide an overview of Denver's early days and the city’s relationship with alcohol, from the prohibition era to the present day. As you explore the Lower Downtown neighborhood, known as LoDo, you'll discover the historic Larimer Square, the city's first commercial district, first block and home to Denver's first residence and city hall. Despite its rich history, the area is now bustling with trendy bars and restaurants, and remains a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Follow your guide as you stroll through the historic streets lined with old brick buildings, stopping to visit some of their favorite spots, including one of Denver's oldest bars, or perhaps a cosy speakeasy, where you'll learn about the city's founding pioneers while sipping on a cocktail. You'll sample an array of Denver's best beverages as your guide provides an in-depth look at the ingredients, history, and inspiration behind each drink. From local favorites to international recipes, you'll experience Denver's diverse and delicious cocktail scene. You might also have a chance to taste some unique local twists on time-honoured classics and get to know about controversies and myths related to some popular drinks. By the end of the tour, you'll have a deep understanding and appreciation for the city, its history, and its craft cocktail scene. If you're planning to stay longer in Denver, your guide will be happy to provide recommendations for places to eat and drink for the rest of your trip.

LAURA was very knowledgeable and personable. I would recommend the tour as a means of becoming familiar with all the area around Union Station has to offer as well as the history of prohibition in Denver, and being introduced to new cocktails.
