Embark on a 2-day safari from Windhoek to Sossusvlei. Explore the Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world, and the Skeleton Coast. Visit the Tropic of Capricorn, Big Daddy, Deadvlei, Sossusvlei, and Dune 45. Day 1: Windhoek - Sossusvlei Get picked up in Windhoek and drive to Sossusvlei. The 5-hour (345 km) route from Windhoek to Sesriem follows the main road southwards to Rehoboth before turning onto the gravel. It heads in a south-westerly direction to Sesriem, the gateway to the famed dunes of Sossusvlei, skirting the impressive Naukluft Mountains. Namib Desert Lodge is 60km to the north, where you’ll find some of the most spectacular scenery the Namib has to offer. As the road from Windhoek meanders through the mountains, you will pass through the Window Bridge, which perfectly frames the landscape, into the valley below. The hills are tawny-colored in the dry mid-year months and vivid green after summer rainfall. Day 2: Sossusvlei Excursion and Windhoek Wake up early for a sunrise hike up Dune 45. Watch as the colors of the dunes change with the ever-altering light. Have breakfast and continue to the 2x4 car park, where all 2-wheel drive vehicles have to stop. Enter the ancient Tsauchab Riverbed for the last 5km leg to Sossusvlei, an ancient pan completely surrounded by sand that is strikingly populated with dead, skeletal camelthorn trees. Explore the area on foot and climb one of the highest dunes in the world. Drive back to Sesriem for lunch and take a short excursion to see the Sesriem Canyon. Walk into the riverbed and follow the river for some way along its journey to Sossusvlei. Head back to the gate and enjoy the mountain scenery on the drive back to Windhoek.

You will arrive at the Sossusvlei in the early afternoon, check-in at your lodge, and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Day 2 Wake up before dawn for an early departure into the Sossusvlei area to catch the sunrise over the towering dunes. Climb Dune 45 or Big Daddy for spectacular views of the desert landscape bathed in golden light. Explore Deadvlei, a surreal pan surrounded by ancient camelthorn trees, and capture stunning photographs. Return to the lodge for lunch (at your own expense). You will be accommodated at Namib Desert Lodge or similar. Day 3 Enjoy breakfast at your lodge before checking out. At around 1:00 PM your shared shuttle will pick you up from the lodge and you will begin your drive to Windhoek. You will arrive in Windhoek at around 6:00 PM. One of our drivers will be waiting for you at Windhoek Truckport where you will be dropped off by your shuttle and you will be dropped off at your hotel in Windhoek.

This area boasts some of the highest free-standing sand dunes in the world and your guide will give you an insight on the formation of the Namib Desert and its myriad of fascinating creatures and plants that have adapted to survive these harsh environs. You will meet the coast at the port town of Walvis Bay and then continue north to Swakopmund where you can enjoy the pleasant seaside location and cooler coastal air for your next two nights. There will be time this afternoon to explore the town and wander along the waterfront on foot, before heading off for dinner at a popular restaurant which specializes in locally harvested seafood. Overnight: Swakopmund Sands Hotel or similar Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 4 Swakopmund/West Coast Today is a free day. The idea is to allow time for everybody to do their own thing. Alternatively, there are various optional activities that can be arranged. These include airplane and microlight flights over the desert, scenic drives, fishing trips (both from the beach and in a boat), and many other activities. Swakopmund, a charming coastal town nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib Desert. Upon arrival, your shuttle will be waiting for your at the drop off area and take you to your accommodation. You will be accommodated at Swakop Sands Hotel or Similar Day 4 - Swakopmund - Walvisbay Today you have a morning at leisure. Your shuttle will come and pick you up between 11h00 and 11h30 and drive to Walvisbay for a Sandwich Harbour excursion. A Sandwich Harbour excursion offers a thrilling adventure along Namibia's rugged Skeleton Coast, combining stunning desert landscapes with mesmerizing coastal scenery. Arriving at Sandwich Harbour, you'll be greeted by a breathtaking panorama of sweeping dunes meeting the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. This pristine coastal oasis is renowned for its scenic beauty and abundant birdlife, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike. You will be accommodated at Swakop Sands Hotel or Similar Day 5 - Swakopmund - Windhoek Today, you enjoy the morning at leisure, you are welcome to go stroll around the city of Swakopmund and purchase some souvenirs. Your shuttle will pick you from the hotel at 12h30 and drop you off at The Delight Hotel, where you will find your shuttle that will drive with to Windhoek. You will arrive in Windhoek at around 17h15 PM. You will then find one of drivers at The Truckport and you will be dropped off at your hotel (Own cost).

Overnight: Sossusvlei Taleni Lodge Standard Rooms Meals: Breakfast and Dinner Day 3 A day in the Dunes We have an early morning wake up, have tea and coffee and drive to visit the world’s highest sand dunes at Sossusvlei and Dead-vlei. First stop is DUNE 45, we hike up for sunrise. Then we will drive to Deadvlei and Big Daddy Dunes as well as Sossusvlei. We are back at the lodge for lunch at 12pm Overnight: Sossusvlei Taleni Lodge Standard Rooms Meals: Breakfast and Dinner Day 4 Namib Naukluft National Park to Swakopmund, Namibia The day is spent driving through the Namib Naukluft National Park on our way to Swakopmund. Overnight: The Delight Lodge Meals: Breakfast Rooms: Standard Rooms Day 5 Enjoy Swakopmund, Namibia Enjoy activities in Swakopmund where you will have the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of this quaint, little German town and enjoy its beauty and beaches. Overnight: The Delight Lodge Meals: Breakfast Rooms: Standard Rooms Day 6 Swakopmund to Damaraland After breakfast, depart southwards towards the coast and on your way meet the locals of the Himba and Damara tribes You will stop at a Himba village on your way to your lodge in Damaraland Overnight: Twyfelfontein Country Lodge Lodge Standard Rooms Meals: Breakfast & Dinner Day 7 Desert Elephants and Historical Damaraland. After breakfast , you are taken to explore and enjoy a morning activity as we drive along the guab river searching for desert elephants and lions. Overnight: Twyfelfontein Country Lodge Lodge Standard Rooms Meals: Breakfast & Dinner Day 8 Etosha National Park After breakfast we depart our lodge to visit a Damara tribe village museum from 9am - 10am. In the afternoon we will enter the Etosha National Park. Overnight: Okaukuejo Bush Chalets, Etosha National Park Standard Rooms Meals: Breakfast Day 9 Etosha 4x4 Safaris We have the opportunity to spend the day on 2 game drives. You then depart Windhoek in your safari vehicle with your private tour guide and you arrive late afternoon in Etosha National Park. You will meet the ocean at the coastal town of Henties Bay and then continue south to Swakopmund where you can enjoy the pleasant seaside location and cooler coastal air for your next two nights. Overnight: Swakopmund Sands Hotel or similar Meal Basis: Breakfast (lunch and dinner on own account) Day 4: Swakopmund/West Coast Today is a free day. The idea is to allow time for everybody to do their own thing. Swakopmund is a very pleasant seaside town with lots of shops, a good stretch of beach (although the Atlantic here is quite cold) and an open-air curio market. There are various optional activities that can be arranged. Your tour guide will discuss all the possible options with you before you reach Swakopmund and will offer to make bookings in advance of your arrival. After lunch you continue driving to reach your overnight accommodation. You arrive at the accommodation in the afternoon.
