From Amman: Petra, Wadi Rum & Dead Sea 3-Day Tour

1. From Amman: Petra, Wadi Rum & Dead Sea 3-Day Tour

Day 1: Petra Begin your tour with pickup from your hotel in Amman and head towards Petra. This magnificent UNESCO-listed heritage site is one of Jordan’s greatest treasures. First, walk through a beautiful narrow pathway, known as Al-Siq which serves as the main entrance to the main city of Petra. Then, lay your eyes on the Al-Khazneh Treasury which is carved deep into the rocks on one side of the mountain and is intricately decorated with Corinthian capitals, friezes, and figures. After lunch in Petra, set off to see other monuments such as the Monastery, the Altar of Sacrifice, the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, and the Roman Theatre. Relax during your overnight stay there. Day 2: Wadi Rum The next day, enjoy some free time to wander around before setting off through the peaceful desert landscape toward Wadi Rum. Marvel as extraordinary mountains begins to rise from the pink desert sand. When you arrive, experience the extraordinary beauty of Wadi Rum as you hike and trundle through the narrow gorges and desert plains past the natural rock bridges and towers. This impressive site is where movies like The Martian, Lawrence of Arabia, Theeb, and many others were filmed.  Then, take a Jeep safari with a local Bedouin driver. Explore several sites such as the Nabatean Temple, the Map of Wadi Rum, the Little Bridge, and the Red Sand Dune. Next, have the chance for a camel ride across the desert (at your own expense). Stop at a Bedouin camp and enjoy drinking Arabic tea or coffee as you mingle with the locals. Finally, enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunset across the silky desert plains. Later that night, gaze at the starlit sky in a cozy relaxation area around the tents. Day 3: Dead Sea On your final morning, reconvene with your group and head to the Dead Sea where you can rejuvenate your body and replenish your soul. Standing at around 400 m below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on the earth’s surface. Leave all your worries behind with the services in the resort, including pools, restaurants, bars, a play area, a gym, and a spa. Take a stroll along the shore, and feel the prickles of salt as you swim and float effortlessly on the mineral-rich water. At the end of the journey, visit a local shop to buy beauty and skin-care products made from local mud, salt, and minerals. Afterward, head back to your hotel in Amman.
