What People Are Saying About DDR Museum
I wanted to find out more behind Berlins history and DDR museum showed me what was history what make Berlin Berlin!!
We read in the news that more than 2 million tourists were spending Easter in Berlin. The city centre was completely packed those days and the queue for this museum was insanely long. Hopefully we were smart enough to buy a skip the line ticker for the DDR museum with GetYourGuide. Buying this ticket is a must in high season and on weekends. The size of the museum is manageable and the price was very reasonable. We got a better idea of how living in the DDR was. You can experience the everyday life and learn about various events that marked this period. I recommend this tour to tourists but also to people living in Berlin like me. You can visit the Museum at any time on the day you purchased tickets for. So you can buy the ticket before planning your day. The location of the museum is also superb.
The bus part of the tour is quite good as you can just ride it for 3 days and watch Berlin. I loved the recorded audio, except that I don't think the Berlin Tower is the tallest structure in Europe anymore, its the Shard in London. Plus one of the embassies are flipped. It should say the Turkish embassy then the South African embassy. I got a chance to see parts of Berlin I had not seen before so this worked out well; the staff is polite and the buses show just about every ten minutes. Watch for traffic diversions as you will miss parts of the tour. But if you do, just hop on and off again. You can use it as your transportation around Berlin :-). The Spree river cruise was not running for a week, but I did not find out until I got off walked around looked for it, and did not find it. However, I was offered any other tour I wanted, so I picked the asisi promenade which is at Checkpoint Charlie. This museum is worth visiting as well. So I have to come back and do the river cruise
The reason why I picked this Tour was due to the locations available in the package. It was really nice to see both historic and modern sides of Berlin. The must see attractions and Berliner hot-spots were also included. The tour really surpassed my expectations where it allowed reasonable time for passengers to hop on and off the bus without too much stress. Also the fact that every 15 minutes a Bus is available is very inviting where I could go out at certain destination with plenty of time to explore the area. I really recommend this to others!
So easy to book over the Internet. The museum was very interesting & a reminder of how lucky we are in the west.
