The Tiger Hill sunrise tour was incredible. I am grateful that I organised this trip through this tour as it meant everything was all organised for me and it made the day go seamlessly! The sunrise and views of the mountains were amazing and it will be etched in my memory for ever. I really enjoyed the walk back to Darjeeling and the breakfast, we got to see some beautiful villages, temples and houses on the way. One thing to note was that the walk was largely on roads shared with cars, but it didn’t hinder my experience. Thanks for an amazing day!

Full description

Tiger Hill is the highest point in the Darjeeling Hills at an altitude of 8482 feet (or 2590 meters) and 11 km (6.8 miles) away from Darjeeling town. The view of Kanchenjunga from Tiger Hill is very clearly seen if the weather is clear with a blue sky, and the scenery is breathtaking.

You will be picked up at 4 am by a representative and driven to Tiger Hill, 14 km away. It will take about an hour to reach Tiger Hill. Upon arrival, you will have a breathtaking view of the sunrise and a panoramic view of Mount Everest and Mount Kanchenjunga together.

Later, you will start your hike towards Jorbanglow, a about 4 km trek through the pine forest to reach Jorbanglow, which means a four-road meeting point. We will have a local breakfast at a small homestay. Later, we continue trekking via Tenzing Norgay Road, which is called Alubari Road in the local language (Alu means potato and Bari means land). This road is 7 km back to Darjeeling.

On the way, we will visit a Buddhist monastery named Alubari Monastery. The actual name of the monastery is Yolmowa Mak Dhog Monastery, which was built in the year 1914. After visiting the monastery, we continue to hike to Darjeeling, so you will finish your hike by approximately 11 am at Chowrasta, which means a four-road meeting point for your tour and for your onward journey with happy memories to cherish.

Very good guide. But hotel pickup was included in the certificate, but there was no way to enter the details. Instead, a meeting point was provided. It would have been a half-hour walk at night. The chatbot is unhelpful, and emails remain unanswered. Only after a phone call could the pickup be clarified. Cancellations were not possible due to the short notice. The route through the bamboo forest was not possible due to a lack of participants. The route along the road is not the same. The price is very high, as confirmed at the homestay. Next time, I will inquire about a tour at the homestay.
