Explore the ferocious beauty of Sinai nature on a 2-day Camel Safari from Dahab. We'll ride the camel to the White Canyon. We'll walk through the canyon to Ain Khudra Oasis. We'll visit the Inscription Rock, the Closed Canyon, El Hemedat and more.
What to Expect
The Sinai has probably of the most attractive landscapes in the world if you consider the dynamic interaction between rocks and desert climate. With the different rocks that we find here and the extreme climate, the wind and the weather have created a spectacular and alternating landscape. A beautiful example of this are the canyons, deep narrow cleaves in a further relatively flat area.
In White Canyon you find here too fossil shells, and you encounter the most capriciously formed rocks. The entry of the canyon is the most difficult part. Helped by a metal staircase for the most cumbersome part, you must climb further considerable over the rocks to end up on the floor of the canyon. The effort will be rewarded with a relatively simple walk concerning the white sand floor. The canyon swings itself trough the landscape (also from above splendidly to see), and end up eventually at the oasis of Ain Khudra.
Starting at 08:00 with a short drive by car to pick up the camels. A camel ride for 30 minutes to the beginning of the White Canyon is followed by a walk through the canyon to Ain Khudra Oasis where we will have lunch. After lunch, a camel ride to the Inscription Rock for approximately 45 minutes before heading back to Ain Khudra Oasis for dinner and to spend the night under the stars !!The next morning a camel ride through the Wadi Rom for an hour to see the Closed Canyon, walking through the canyon for approx. 30 minutes to the end where we pick up our camels to then ride for one more hour to see El Hemedat.
We return by camel to Wadi Ghazala to take the car back to Dahab.
