The visit of the Mt Sinai and the St. Cathrine monastry itself was very interesting and worthwile! But the organisation and tour guide was not what was promised. - No food or drink was provided / included as promised - No torch was provided (you had to buy one) as written - It was not a guided tour in German language: our guide was 15yr old and didn't speak a word German or English. There was no explanation or any background information given - Although it was during low season it was way to crowded -

Houd goed je berggids in de gaten. De mijne had bovenop de berg nog maar één persoon van de hem toegewezen groep over. Vervolgens is het zonder groep lastig om aan te sluiten bij een rondleiding in het klooster. Over het geheel genomen wel een prachtige en unieke ervaring.

It was a fine way to get from Dahab to Mount Sinai. Sinai itself - stunning! A wonderful experience to see sunrise from the top of the mountain. However, from a tour standpoint, nothing special here. The tour guide seemed disinterested, and was occasionally rude and impatient. The monastery “tour” if you can call it that offered no extra info - it was basically, here is a chapel, here is a fountain, and there is the burning bush. Like this is guide dependent…perhaps ours was just having a bad night.
