Your tour will start with your group pick-up. From there you will drive for about an hour to Chinchero, making a short stop in this town to visit one of the last traditional families. You will also learn about ancient textiles and the weaving process. After driving 30 minutes more, you will arrive to Moray, the ancient Inka agriculture laboratory located in a rare topographical depression in which the Inkas developed into unique circular terraces. You will learn how this entire area was also watered by a well-engineered irrigation system. After enjoying Moray, you will continue for another hour to the Salineras Salt Mines of Maray, your last destination on your tour. The salt mine is actually a vast collection of terraces born from a water stream high on a mountain. Over many centuries this salt spring has been channeled to 1,000 small pools. Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes
Get picked up from your hotel in Cusco, meet your guide, then take a 30-minute drive to Awanacancha, a textile center and farm. Get a chance to see the llamas, alpacas, viñuna, and guanacos.
Learn about the farm’s variety of South American animals. Then, visit the textile center to learn the weaving process and how the locals get the natural colors. You can shop here as well.
Afterward, take a 30-minute ride to a lookout point of the Sacred Valley. Take in scenic views of the Andes, Urubamba River, and the Sacred Valley’s farming lands of the Incas.
The village of Pisac is in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Discover its market where the locals sell their manufactured products. Beautiful alpaca textiles, musical instruments, paintings, carvings, necklaces, and replicas of old Inca pieces stand out. Then explore the archaeological site on the highest hill in the city of Pisac. Learn all about the history of the largest complex of terraces in the area. Marvel at this masterpiece of the Inca Empire. After lunch, visit Ollantaytambo, a typical example of the urban planning of the Incas. Visit the town and the local archaeological site. Finally, return to Cusco at the end of the tour.

This was a fun class to take! When I got to the chocolate museum there were these adorable little puppies running around that everyone got to play with. There were a group of us that took the class and it was very interactive learning about cocoa beans and turning them into chocolate. We drank some cocoa tea, make chocolate paste, and then got to create chocolate bars from different molds of our choosing. Our instructor was a very fun and friendly timen
