I didn’t realize the car ride from the hotel to the train station was 1.5-2 hours, so a bathroom break or a heads up would have been nice. But the tour itself was great- not too much talking and a solid 3 hour hike. With my husband, we only had 1 other group of 4 women with us so it was a nice small group of people. The line of people to get off the mountain to get on a bus took almost an hour but nothing anyone could do about that. The lunch which was nice was around 2:30-3 so pack snacks!

The trip was good however it was spoiled because lima tours refused to pick us up at the hotel TikaWasi in the morning, stating it was too difficult and narrow to get there. The pick up time was supposed to be between 530 and 0800 but Yesica advised that pick up would be at 4.45 at the town square, which we had to find. I get train times can change, but we were unaware of how far it was to catch the train, which took us over 2 hours on a minibus. the ticket did say the train was from Ollayantambo, however we made an incorrect assumption that the train would be much closer. On the plus side the trip itself was good and the driver did agree to drop us off at the Hotel, but I would have given a higher rating had we not had the initial confusion and struggle to find the bus. Luckily the driver was in the square shouting out lima tours and trying to find us in the square when we finally realised no-one was coming to get us, even though Yesica had agreed to pick us up after a text call.

Trip was overall good. Poor communication and pickup at my airport was a challenge and we were forced to get ready in minutes because they came 40-50 minutes before advertised time and didn't use the methods of communication in advance due to not specifying that whatsapp is the required method.
